Varavon TiltJib – A Mini Video Tilt Jib Crane in Four Lengths with Extension Options

Varavon is a company that is constantly evolving and coming out with new products for the video and photo world on a regular basis. I’ve worked a lot with Varavon in using and reviewing their line of gear- so far I’ve been very pleased with all of the tools I’ve been able to use. I’m excited to see their arrival of their brand new jib option. The NEW Varavon TiltJib Video Jib Crane.

The TiltJib mounts on a tripod and the head of the jib is tiltable via a wire pulley system.

By using your tripod’s pan bar, you can tilt your camera’s angle on the head of the jib up or down.

You can also mount the TiltJib on a slider for sliding movement with jib style shots.

The TiltJib is pretty straight forward with only a few pieces included with the kit. I will be doing a video review on the TiltJib within the next week or so, so keep an eye out for the full review.

TiltJib comes in four different lengths: 3.2′, 6.2′, 9.4′ or 12.4′. There are also optional extension kits and arms for the TiltJib can be purchased separately. Accessories like wire sets, knobs & weight poles are also available on Varavon’s Website. (click here for a full product list)

The tiltable head is an attractive option especially for longer cranes. For a small jib more often than not one would be operating the jib from the head end for better control and a light fluid head would do the job as well. Just my two-cents.

Olivia, I bought a 4ft Glideshot jib after seeing your review at Cheesycam a long while back. It is a solid small jib and has served me well but still required a sturdy tripod/fluid head to mount on, thus adding more weight I have to transport to locations. Portability, from my prospective, is key for me as I usually operate alone.

I received my carbon fiber Aviator Travel Jib last week and I think I have my problem solved. It is not cheap but the search for portability for me has to end some where or very close:)

Paired with a CF Manfrotto 190CX, the combination is a solo operator’s dream, well to me at least. I did a quick test and posted a short video to both http://vimeo.com/58242145 and http://youtu.be/e8XV7RQZBa8

Short commentary is on Vimeo. I know you guys will someday do a much better and much useful test than I did but I just couldn’t wait to show something:)
