Varavon Slider Balance Weight for Sliders
Varavon has a Slider Balance Weight for Sliders to help achieve smooth sliding glides when using a slider. When you are booming up your camera in order to get smooth shots without having inconsistent movements, an extremely fatigued arm or varied speeds, making use of weights on a pulley system is one simple solution. Varavon has made a practical Slider Balance Weight for Sliders that makes use of everyday water bottles as weights to give your slides more consistency. In the video below I show you how this works, what pieces you get in Varavon’s kit and how your shots will look while using the product.
Right now, Varavon is running a Holiday Special on select Sliders and their LCD Viewfinder the Multi Finder for 20% OFF. You will also get FREE Shipping in the US and with this deal and receive the Slider Balance Weight and a Sling Focus for FREE – sweet deal, especially if you are currently looking to purchase a slider or viewfinder. Offer ends December 31, 2012.

As long as there is room to drop the weights, you can use this method for both vertical and horizontal slides. The pulley system gives smooth steady and consistent slides to your shots. I adjusted the speed of my slides by adding friction to the pulley line simply by squeezing it with my fingers.

I´ve bought a Varavon Slider Lite thanks to you . And its great. Now another great add on for my slider. Thanks for this video.
CAn I ask what audio solution did you use the capture this video audio ? I am looking for an afordable solution for my GH1 and the new GH3 . I have the Rode Videomicpro but it captures a lot of background sound. In this video I could hear only your voice ….thats what I want …
CAn you help me ?
@labalbi We were using the Rode Pinmic, I did a video review of it HERE. We shot this video on a Canon 5D Mark III and ran the lav straight into the camera. There are inexpensive audio options out there that may not capture the sound quality that a Rode will offer, however, if you’re on a budget, these solutions can work. You can also consider a JuicedLink Preamp like the RM333 or even the Fiio as a cheap preamp option.
Again…thanks a lot !

Great demo, I was looking hard at their sliders due to this sale – it’s really nice to see your real world test videos in weighing decisions, so thanks!
Brilliant idea. I bought one on July and I missed the counter weight. How can I get one?
@Richard I believe the free bundle only applies to sales that are made in the time that this holiday special is running for. You can try contacting Varavon directly though.
I would like to purchase the VARAVON slider but am torn between the 600 and 800. This will be my first slider purchase and I am not sure which length is best. I will not be taking the slider as a carry on when I travel. Which length do you recommend.
@Jeff This really depends on how long you would like your slides to be. I always tell people to think of it in terms of your edits. I’ve found that shorter sliders work just fine for me because the length of the cuts in the videos are typically not long enough to take up more time than it takes for each complete slide. The choice really is going to be based around what you’re planning to shoot most often and your setup.
Hi Olivia, your tutorial on youtube was great. I actually bought the slider right away from eBay for 60 CAD. But, I’m not sure why it was that cheap on eBay.
Can you give some info about the cost.
Thanks again from Vancouver – BC
@Taz What sort of info did you need on the cost?
