Tuesday Tip – How To Create Light Leaks

Who doesn’t love FREE? Today’s Tuesday Tip is all about creating light leaks in your camera for free. I simply detached the lens from the camera body and used an iPhone’s Flash Light App to shine a light in-between the camera’s sensor and the lens itself to create light leaks.

We set our camera up on a tripod so the sensor didn’t move then detached the lens from the camera body. We focused in on the subject (iPhone) then hit record and played with the positioning of the lens and the light itself. Keeping the camera stationary was important in this application since we wanted the iPhone I was holding to stay as much in focus as possible. Depending on the look and feel you are going for, all of this can be altered to your liking; ie: the amount of focus, light and movement.
