RØDE iXY Stereo Microphone for iPhone and iPad

Really cool idea! I wonder how this would compare to a zoom in sound quality.
cinemasteve I was thinking the exact same thing. Will not be able to do the mic input like the Zoom H4n but it could replace the $99 Zoom H1. Looks like the iXY is already sold out.
At $200 dollars I think it will be a hard sell to anyone serious about sound. I like the idea, but this thing is more than most of the good recorders. Maybe at $100 to $120.
Very interested to see a real live field test on this. Battery consumption, physical build and sterdiness. And of course – the price
Nifty Idea and design. Price point is awkward. If you are buying your first portable recording device, the h4n is only a few bucks more with xlr inputs and many other features for roughly the same price. If you are thinking of augmenting your recording device arsenal and having this as a ultra portable pocket alternative to a stand alone device like the zoom, I’d buy it…..if the price were say, $79. But at it’s current price I can’t see buying it in either scenario. Great design though. I like the idea. Again, at least to me, the pricing is way off.
…not to mention (at least as far as I can tell) no iphone 5 lighting connector model available.
something like this could prompt me to pick up an iOS device!
but i sure hope they develop one for android too!!
would have been interesting if they had an Android version.
Why did thy not make it for the new lightning connector?!?!
