The Gini Rig Professional Gear for a Budget

Uber affordable, simply sexy and always available on eBay for filthy cheap prices, the Gini Rig is a stand out system for the O.Tech benchmark. If you’re looking to get into video camera supports, Gini is one to keep an eye on. Gini rigs are fit to industry standards so you can be sure that Gini’s pieces will work with other industry standard DSLR Rig products and accessories. Gini states the promise that 5 quality standards are maintained in production: 1-Functionality 2- Ergonomics 3- Durability 4-Modularity and 5- Affordability. This is definitely a promise kept.

The machined aluminum design is sleek and the pieces just feel right when you hold them. All parts are designed in high precision CAD ( computer aided design ). Gini claims that the parts are produced under supervision of master machinists on CNC ( computer numerical controlled ) machines, and every single piece shows that’s a fact. The black anodized rods are micro textured to increase their grip so they don’t slip or give play to the finished rig. • [...] There it is. If you’ve been eyeballing that RJ Follow focus or might have been hesitant about long delays in shipping, it’s now available to ship in the U.S.A. Like right now, and right this instant. I’m not sure what the quantity available is, or if it’s a regularly stocked item. Of course you need a set of rails to mount, or some type of rig. I’ve often suggested that you check out some good deals with the Gini auctions. [...]

    Olivia,

I just got my Gini Cage 007 H3 yesterday and was thrilled until I attempted to attach my field monitor to the top cheese plate and I discovered that the holes are not 1/4 20 or 3/8! I took it to my local camera shop to see if they recognized the holes’ dimensions but they were just as perplexed as I was.

Do you know what size these holes are, and are they in any way standard? What will I need to do to attach my field monitor, mic mount and Juice Link to this rig? Did you have this issue with your Gini gig?

    Thanks again,
    Paul

Paul, is it possible for you to send me a picture of the part you are referring to? In the contact section of my site, email me and I’ll send my email address. The Gini cheese plates we have here all have 1/4-20″ and 3/8 threaded holes.
