I have a few Canon FD lenses and needed to use them with my GH2 so I go this adaptor ring from Amazon. It’s inexpensive and allows my micro 4/3 camera to be compatible with the lovely Canon lenses. Lens Mount Adapter Canon FD to MFT Micro 4/3 Four Thirds Tweet This Post
Macro lenses can get really expensive, especially if you’re just using them for hobby shooting. A rather inexpensive alternative to purchasing more glass are Macro extension tubes. These tubes move the lens farther from camera sensor. The farther away the lens is, the closer the minimum focal distance and the greater the magnification. This metal [...]

I’m crazy about Lomo Style Photos and the LensBaby Look but pretty luke warm about the prices on these. The whole blurred edges, image distortion, shallow depth of field touch is artsy meets versatile. C-mount is a format commonly used for the old 16mm videocams and closed-circuit televisions. Surveillance cameras take different lenses, some being [...]
This is Rich from Camera Motion Research. He shows me this GH2 on a BBlackbird stabilizer. Hooked up to it is a wireless HD transmitter for WiCast and a small HD monitor. The WiCast is streaming live feed to a remote LCD monitor. Tweet This Post
March 19, 2011 was our latest super moon since 1993. Although clouds kept me from capturing the moon, the falling rain during the day was certainly worth my time. Tweet This Post
Just a short little video I took the other day on my drive to the grocery store. Fremont, CA is being fitted for a new Warm Springs B.A.R.T. (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station. I wanted to document what the area looked like prior to the tracks being laid and the station’s construction. The steel beams [...]
One of the amazing guys I work with let me try out an Ikan stabilizer that he said has been collecting dust at his cube. I had to test it out for myself to see if this Ikan is worthy of its hefty price point. In a quick review of test shots, I discovered that [...]
In my last two posts I shot some footage of plants around the house to compare the gels on my LED 5001 light. I felt like the transparent gel really had a nice cold feel. I felt like the video was shot in the winter on a cold night. It gave the video more of [...]
Now using the LED 5001′s warm gel, I made use of my light again tonight. Shot with a Lumix 20mm pancake lens in 24p cinema mode. ISO320, white balance at tungsten, this time using the LED 5001′s WARM GEL. Making use of my LED 5001 professional light tonight. Shot on my GH2 with a Lumix 20mm pancake lens in 24p cinema mode, ISO400, tungsten white balance with a transparent gel or diffuser. In an earlier post: http://oliviaoffcamera.com/gh2-lcd-view-finder-sun-shade I wrote about an LCD viewfinder sunshade. Two followers, Jay and Doug posted comments that pointed me to these two LCD VF’s for the Panasonic GH2. I absolutely love both for different reasons. The Loupe EX by Varavon is more of a rig system with a LCD VF. This definitely [...]
Decided to shoot around my neighborhood. Tried out how my hand held stability footage looked and experimented with some rack focusing techniques. I found that I didn’t spend enough time playing with the rack focusing or spend enough time on any particular one subject to get a more in depth perspective. Well, with the exception [...]
Using my Pixel timer remote I took some footage of clouds moving. I was having some real trouble with uploading and the quality of my footage in my first time lapse blog. I crashed my friend’s iMovie when I tried to convert 472 JPG files to MOV files then play them, haha! Total fail and [...]
Using my new GH2 timer remote I shot this Time Lapse video. The Time lapse part of the video was done using QuickTime pro. The sky seems to be moving smoothly but traffic was still very jittery. I’ll have to practice and try again with different settings. Only song I had available at time of [...]

The GH2 come equipped with an internal zoom feature. In the menu, under “digital zoom” you can turn the feature off, to 2X or 4X zoom. Here is a photo comparison I did this morning with a 28mm Canon lens and a Micro 4/3 adapter. I’m quite impressed with the quality. Tweet This Post
