There are a lot of shooters looking to purchase the brand new Rokinon 85mm T1.5 Cine Lens right now. The one question I’ve been asked quite a bit recently is will I be doing a review on this lens. Well, here it is! We paired the Rokinon 85mm T1.5 Cine Lens up with the NEW Blackmagic Cinema Camera, the Panasonic GH3 Micro Four Thirds Camera, Canon’s 5D Mark III and the Canon Rebel T4i.
We wanted the Rokinon 85mm Cine Lens to be shown in all of its naked glory so no ND filter was threaded onto the front of the lens. In order to show the bokeh that this lens is capable of producing, we needed to shoot as wide open as possible. To prevent overexposing (or the use of an ND filter) we stopped down to T2.8. Neutral Density filters can sometimes introduce some softness to your images so making sure that we used the lens bare was very important to us as we wanted to showcase the image quality as accurately as possible.
The example shots from each camera with the Rokinon 85mm T1.5 Cine Lens is intended to give you some idea of how the lens looks at T2.8 outdoors. This Cine lens also comes with other mounting options including a Rokinon 85mm T1.5 Nikon F Mount Version.
