Ready Rig DSLR Camera Stabilizer – Photo Plus Expo 2012

I take a look at the Ready Rig Camera Stabilizer that is designed to completely redistribute the weight of your camera and setup so you can shoot without fatigue.

The Ready Rig DSLR Camera Stabilizer is designed to support not only DSLRs but also moderately sized camcorders. This stabilizer has four points of stabilization. Since this system completely redistributes the weight of the camera away from the user’s hands, you get even, hands-free operation while shooting. This design not only lessens fatigue during prolonged use, the Ready Rig also aids with steady camera movements without compromising the freedom of movement for shooting handheld.

The rig supports a suggest load capacity of 12 to 17 lb. and a custom fit case is included for transport and storage. You can attach accessories like a monitor or audio recording devices via the accessory mounts on the Ready Rig. A Quick Release plate does not come with the rig, you purchase the QR plate separately according to the gear you typically shoot with.

It’s good to see Tom Cruise stepping behind the camera these days ;)

This is a nice looking system for DSLRs, but the structure of it makes me thing it’s only useable for a DSLR and not a longer bodied camera like other backpack/bungee type systems. $2000, while a great price for a setup that would be expandable, seems a little steep for something only limited to DSLR format.

Do you know if the plate will handle/support any other type of digital cameras?
