Que Audio Sniper PRO DSLR Shotgun Microphone Kit with Boom Pole and Mic Stand

The Que Audio Sniper Pro Shotgun Booming Kit gives you the necessary components for on-camera recording and location sound booming with a DSLR camera. This complete kit starts with all the pieces from the Que Audio DSLR Video Pro Microphone Kit, with a few additions.
In the video below I run down what is included in the Que Audio Sniper PRO kit and show you guys a measurement of the audio captured. The frequency analyzer is displaying the frequency response of the Que Audio shotgun microphone’s range in hertz.

The Q Compact Connection System (QCCS) is wireless ready with optional QCCS adapters for all of the popular third party wireless transmitters including Shure, Sennheiser, AT, AKG, Lectrosonics, EV, Samson, and more. Another accessory option is the Que Audio QAD4 T-Bar Adapter. It works really well on the end of the Mini Boom Pole to hold a portable digital recorder, for example.

A few things to keep in mind, when using the Q Mini Shotgun PRO at +10 or +20 db gain settings, the mic uses A LOT more power, and thus consumes the batteries quicker. Be sure to monitor your audio regularly and change the batteries when needed. With weak batteries, the Mini Shotgun will work at 0db, but not at +10 or +20db.

The Que Audio Sniper PRO DSLR Kit includes
Que Audio’s hypercardioid Q Mini Shotgun PRO mic
QMB1 Mini Boom Pole. Fully collapsed at 13.5″ (>34 cm) and the fully extended length is just under 57.5″ (4′ 9.5″ or >1.5 meters) without any attachments. The compact build on this is really nice when covering events since it’s very easy to collapse.
QB1 base unit
QM1 Run and Gun Cold Shoe Adapter for mounting the mic to the camera’s hotshoe
QSM-PRO Mini Shockmount Pro (with spare rubber bands)
QSM4 Rubber Shock Absorber for minimizing vibrations
QWJ5 windscreen and Wombat Fluffy Wind Muff for wind-noise reduction
DAAD TRL 3.5 mm adapter
QAD3 Phantom Powered XLR Adapter with Balancing Circuit
11.8″ (30cm) coiled cable and an extended 6.6′ (2m) straight cable for use with the boom pole
2 AG4 batteries
Leatherette carrying case.

Very nice review. Looks like an impressive little microphone.

I still like my Azden shotgun microphone. Takes one AAA battery and fits nicely into an approx. 14″ x 4″ pouch carrying case with XLR cable and adaptor. The microphone itself is only 12-1/4″ long. I’m 6′-2″, so it’s not that difficult for me to carry around …but I do like the idea of a smaller microphone for certain situations.

I don’t know that I would feel all that comfortable carrying a travel case through an airport (or check-in) …with the markings “Sniper Kit” …lol.

@Marty Azden certainly does have some quality audio gear. I love the portability of this tiny shotgun, especially for when we are covering events. Great point, now I’m excited to enter security with the “Sniper” brief case. :D
