Olloclip for iPhone 5 and Ollo iPhone Case from Macworld 2013
Patrick from Olloclip shows me the Olloclip for iPhone 5 with the brand new iPhone case and tells us about their new app. The Olloclip for the iPhone 5 fits the 5′s thinner form factor and supports the new positioning of the camera, however, the glass elements and 3 lenses (macro, wide and fisheye) are still the same on the Olloclip for iPhone 5.
Olloclip must fit on a bare iPhone in order to get the lens optics as close to the camera itself as possible. The new case has a flip up option so you can keep your Ollo iPhone case on your iPhone and still attach and detach the Olloclip very easily. The Ollo iPhone case also has 2 tripod mounts for both landscape and portrait mounting and a coldshoe mount. The mounting options slide off when you’re not using them to keep your phone as thin and light as possible. The iPhone’s camera shutter release can be triggered with the volume plus and minus buttons. The Ollo iPhone case even gives you a remote shutter release button that works by pressing the volume control on your iPhone to trigger your shutter.
Last, Patrick tells us about the also soon to be released Ollo app that will help you take macro photos as well as pull out some barrel distortion from your fisheye photos. The app is for photo editing only.
The Ollo iPhone case is set to be released at the end of March. The Olloclip for the iPhone 4, 4S and 5 are available now! If you want to check out the OliviaTech VIDEO Review of the Olloclip, you can find that (here).

Do you think there is a big difference in on camera sound capture between the Zoom H1 and the H4 attached to a Rode Mic Pro ? Sorry a little off topic lol I’m trying to decide which to buy.
@Jay I don’t think there is a huge difference in the sound (from what I’ve experienced). It all depends though on the nature of what you are shooting and what features you will need. The Zoom H4N Handy Digital Recorder is a more robust recording device. If you do not need all the bells and whistles that come with the H4N, the Zoom H1 Digital Recorder works just fine.
I was walking by while you were recording this and noticed that you guys were using a small camera (point & shoot?) What type of set up are you using (camera, lighting & mic) ? Video is clean!
@Brian Hey, thanks! We kept it simple and went Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 with an F&V R-300 LED Ring Light mounted with 2 Pistol Grip Camera Handles and an 11″ Friction Arm.
