Lumix G 14mm f/2.5 Lens for a Steal

Right now on eBay, Panasonic’s Lumix G 14mm f/2.5 lens is going for around $160! This is about half the price of what other retailers are selling the exact same lens for. This wide (75ยบ angle of view) lens is compatible with Lumix G Micro 4/3 cameras. Huge thanks to OTech reader, Martin, for giving me the heads up about these prices.

I picked one up when tip via chessycam a few months ago. It took a while to ship, may or may not be grey market but works and looks great! This on a gh2 is so light, small and fun to use.
- My gini FF is too large to use with the lens, the lens straps that are like quick ties, but reusable and come with a “handle” that screws in works well and doesnt look bad.
cheesycam FTW! Thanks for the review and tips about your Gini.. I’m sure it will help someone out, Jody!
i hate that i read your blog today, but thanks for the heads up. just bought one
Ha! Well, aren’t you glad you scored the lens for that price and didn’t give into a more expense buy?
i guess so…i originally just bought it to sell it, but i’m thinking about keeping it now after reading some articles online…i currently own a 20mm pancake lens…i understand you have a GH2, would you sell the 14mm? keep both, or sell the 20mm?
Julian, I really love my 20mm f/1.7. The 14mm is super wide though and I really like that for certain shots. I’d love something even wider, almost fisheye.. but those can run very expensive. For this price point, I’m pretty certain the 14mm is a good buy. Here is the better question, which do you use more? If you find yourself always utilizing the 20mm and completely neglecting the 14mm.. perhaps it’s time to take her out to the back and shoot her. lol
I like the way your brain thinks. Thank you for helping put things into persepctive =)
The 14mm is AFC not the 20mm, but the 20mm is good in low light. I have both and sell nothing.
Any ideas if its usable on Canons? with some stepring or something?
You can purchase an adapter, however, the lens will default to the widest aperture and cannot be stopped down. There is a work around, but then you’d have to always have a Canon camera body on you. Not really worth it in my opinion!
