Kamerar Tank Cage for DSLR Cameras – How To Adjust Height Using 15mm Rods
The new New Kamerar Tank TK-2 Cage for DSLR Cameras has been a pretty popular selling item since its release. One common gripe that a few customers have complained about is that they cannot fit their camera into the Tank Cage with a battery grip, QR plate or both attached. The Tank Cage accepts standard 15mm Rods and is, in fact, height adjustable.
In the video above I show you that by simply swapping out the Swiss Rods that the tank ships with, with any 15mm rods, you can fit a DSLR Camera with a battery grip. I’m using 7″ rods but you can really use any length to accomodate your setup. If you’re looking to lighten the Tank Cage, you can even modify it with carbon fiber rods to cut down the overall weight.
Tank Cage Features

The Tank video cage provides (23) 1/4-20 threaded mounting points on the Top plate along with (2) 3/8″ sized female threads
The Side handles of the Tank incorporate the P&C Swiss Rod design allowing access to more than 60 possible mounting points

farewell!
Is there any way we can adapt this to fit the BMCC?
@Tango Yes, this cage will fit the BMCC
With the 15mm rails as a substitute for the original grips, how does that effect the setup if you get the matte box kit? I’m really diving into getting my gear and this company has defiantly caught my eye but I wanna know if that is going to hinder accessories later.
