Industry Tape – Zero Residue
Gaffer’s tape- what the heck is it? This isn’t so much the question as soon as you use Industry Tape. What you’ll be pondering is, “What CAN’T this tape do?” Gaffers on production sets are expected to take care of the odds and ends of anything in use that might need attention. From taping off uneven surfaces to securing loose cords; gaffing tape gets the job done. Industry Tape is a new, revolutionary adhesive. Unlike conventional adhesives, it leaves no residue. It is designed for easy tear & reuse – all while maintaining its strength and durability. Industry Tape comes in an assortment of colors that can all be found on their website www.industrytape.com.

I’m confused; is this a specific type of Gaffers tape, or a different kind of tape entirely? Isn’t most gaff tape zero residue, like ProGaff?
Hi Nate, Industry Tape is no residue, yes. Some other brands available are also no residue.
Digging the new intro/outro gfx.
Nate,
As a disclaimer: I work for Industry Tape…
Our tape is similar to Gaffers Tape, but has a ton of different properties all wrapped in one. Many of the Gaff Tapes that leaves no residue are pretty weak. The one’s that are strong do leave residue, or can tear up the surface.
Industry Tape uses a special adhesive and substrate backing that allows it to leave no residue – yet it has high tensile strength similar to duct tape. Additionally, it’s an easy tear – a perfect 90 degrees, is respositionable, and easily unsticks itself from adhesive-to-adhesive contact, plus much more.

This video felt a lot like a paid commercial announcement.
Looks cool. Discount for Oliviatech followers??
The tape seems to have a shine surface, something that it is not desirable in photography or video. I think that I will “stick” with Gaffer tape. I have used this stuff for over 30 years and it always performed 100%.
Hi Victor, Industry Tape also offers a matte finish as well. The versions we have in the video are not matte.
Gaffers are electricians. Grips, Swings, and Sparks would be in charge of taping uneven surfaces and cabling. The gaffer is in charge of the Swings and Sparks, so he would never need to use gaff tape. Just saying.
