Induro’s DR (Dual Range) Hi-Hat Tripod Set is a robust aluminum alloy tripod that is designed to accomodate low angle shooting for both photo and video platforms. This tripod can support up to 220 lbs. and the set includes a 100mm bowl and a 100mm half ball adapter. A 75mm model is also available. This means that you not only have the ability to level your shots without having to adjust each leg individually, you can also swap out the native half ball adaptor to fit your own video head if you want.

Most tripods are not capable to collapsing down as low as a hi hat tripod. These tripods are designed specifically for this style of shooting. Low angle panning and tilting, vehicle shots, a wide variety of low profile shots can be tackled with something like Induro’s DR (Hi-Hat Tripod Set.

Each leg of the tripod has a two-section extension and three variable angle adjustments. Bubble levels are built-in on the tripod spider and on the half ball adapter’s top plate, so again, you can be level right from the start. Reinforced ovoid feet that pivot give you a secure grip on any terrain (the set can also be screwed, spiked or secured in some other way to the ground or a board). Three evenly spaced points give you secure 3/8″ and 1/4″ threaded points for mounting accessories.

When I went out into the pumpkin patch to shoot with the DR Hi-Hat, I found that it was extremely sturdy, the body of it did feel robust and centered while I was both panning and tilting and the height that the Hi-Hat was able to drop to was really nice for shooting the pumpkins on the ground.
