How To Install the Free Replacement Block for Varavon Slidecam Lite Camera Slider
Many of you are now receiving your replacement blocks from Varavon for the Slidecam Lite Slider. To address some questions on how to replace and assemble the new block, I made a quick video explaining the process. The new block features a side break rather than the middle break that sometimes would get caught in the tripod mount holes on the slider.
The only tool I needed for this quick fix was a hex wrench.
Varavon now as a FREE replacement for the Top Block of their Slideam Lite Slider. Check out the Varavon site to see how you can exchange your existing Slidecam Lite Top Block (HERE).

Just to clarify, the slidecam lite is able to handle full size dslr cameras correct (T234i/60D/7D/5DM2/3)? I saw in another post you used the NEX7.
Yes, the slider can hold up to larger setups! As your lens and overall setup gets heavier and larger though, an upgrade may be needed. Check out weigh capacity on their site according to your specific setup.
What type of lens is recommended for slider shots? Would a wide angle (8mm rokinon) be fine? Also, how long is this offer valid? I’m thinking about getting the Slidecam Lite and would want the newer brake when I pull the trigger on one. Thanks Olivia. You’re the best!
@Steven Keep in mind that using a wide angle lens for slider shots may reduce the look of the slide. In these instances you want to be sure you have something in the foreground so you still retain the look of the slide. Otherwise, the shot is so wide that you don’t notice any intentional movement. Check Varavon’s site for offer dates, this can change.
Hey Olivia,
Do you experience any wobble with the old or new top?
I’ve just installed mine and it wobbles alittle, but I can’t remember if the old top had the same wobble tho.
@Alex I did not. Did you try adjusting the tension control? Varavon ships their units with small hex wrenches for this.
