GH2 UnderWater Housing

Nauticam makes some unbelievable housings specifically for underwater video/photography cameras. They seem to specialize in the small consumer DSLRs and Compact Shooters. One of the latest creations is a housing for the Panasonic GH2 (that’s right up my alley). Other housings include popular Canon DSLRs and the Sony NEX-5. Might be just the thing to take into the ocean this summer.. Found here: http://www.nauticam.com/product.asp?id=121

Anyone know how much these cost? Nauticam seems to want to tell you everything except the price.

I’ve searched the web and the only price I’ve come across is $2100. Yikes!! Anyone see anything cheaper? I’ve been looking for awhile now..

  • I’ve been using my GH2 with the Nauticam housing you see above for about 6 months now. Both the camera and the housing are great, especially for video! You can see samples of my underwater video work using this setup at HERE.

I highly recommend the GH2 and the Nauticam housing. A bit pricey, I know, but worth it!

This is a bit of an old post but Im looking at getting a better camera for underwater video use. From the current cams the GH2 looks like a great performer and Im between this and the NEX-7 and maybe the GH2 successor if it ever comes around lol.

The housings are a big jump in price though and the setup is a little more expensive then my Gopro’s and all accessories combined :) but video quality with a GH2 looks awesome. The hacks make it even better and I haven’t seen anything at the same price-point that comes close to GH2 video quality yet.
