CFL Padded Carrying Case Bag

For those of you lucky souls who have purchased the CFL softbox lighting kits and plan on traveling with them, here is a solution to transporting the fragile CFL bulbs. I know that a few guys are opting for styrofoam boxes and DIY kits that are bulky and difficult to keep together. If you have a DIY solution for this case, share with us!

Essentially, this is just a padded carrying case with soft separation panels to keep the bulbs from breaking. Therefore, this case can double as a lens case to get a bulk amount of lenses from point A to B.

Sniff…they don’t sell to France…sniff. I keep my gypsy protection made with bulbs boxes and scotchtapes ;o)

thanks for posting a whole blog post dedicated to a cfl case. Problem is that most setups require more than 6 bulbs, and having multiple cases isn’t really convenient. I was looking for something like the bulb case in this kit. CLICK HERE They will not sell separately. Only styrofoam, might make my own. Does anyone have a vendor or solution?

I bought 2 of these cases and they are pretty wonderful. Much better than any styrofoam solution. I didn’t like having 2 cases to cart around, but it turns out that a standard milk crate can house both perfectly for car transport and protection. Found them cheapest at olivia’s link.

I was terribly worried about the flicker part. However, with your magic combo of 24 fps plus 1/50 shutter speed, it’s gone, baby, gone!

    Thanks a ton!
