Camera Rain Cover
This past weekend I went to shoot some footage of a waterfall. Of course, my biggest concern was water damage to my camera. I didn’t have a rain cover so I went to Walgreens, picked up a clear shower cap for a few bucks and secured it all with a hair tie. Quick and dirty! But you know what, it worked.
What you’ll need to make your own rain cover for your camera.
1) Hotel or cheap clear shower cap from drug store
2) Rubber band, or in my case, a hair tie
Do you guys have any quick DIY solutions to share with me? Let me know and share!! =)

What happened? Where is a nice done video with a perfect sound and millions of smiles?
Great Idea on the rain cap.
I once saw this guy plastic wrap his DSLR on an assignment to shoot a mud festival in this video
I’ve never really needed to protect my camera like that. Still, following a tip I read on Popular Photography once, I keep some conveniently folded trash bags and gaffer’s tape on my camera bag. Along with a single-use raincoat, because what’s the point of keeping your equipment safe and not your health?
This is an excellent idea…..affordable and easy- great!
are you still able to control focus and zoom? i gotta get a few of these in case it rains at a wedding i’m shooting.
I still could turn my lens, yes. The shower cap made the images on my LCD sort of foggy though. Keep in mind, the more clear your plastic bag or shower cap is, the more clearly you’ll be able to see and achieve focus on your images. =)
