Everyone is still waiting to see if BlackMagic Design will ship the new Pocket Cinema Camera on time this month. According to the recent video from Dan Chung, it sounds like things are still expected to ship in a few weeks.
The Pocket Cinema Camera is a Super 16 sized sensor (Full Frame in pocket cameras may be overrated for video use) small enough to keep with you at all times. Featuring film style 13 stops of dynamic range, high quality lossless CinemaDNG RAW (YES RAW) and Apple ProRes™ recording. All with the flexibility of an active Micro Four Thirds lens mount.
This is a huge win for consumers using the Micro Four Thirds format for a real Pocketable Cinema camera. Sony, Canon, Nikon, and Panasonic have been slow to adopt higher quality RAW video formats even in their more expensive DSLR cameras. Pre-orders have been available since the announcement at NAB this year (found here).
