I am currently looking for best shoulder rig DIY solution that I can attach some kind of follow focus… doesn’t have to be realy cheep, but something to use until I come up with some cash for the real thing.

I am in the part of the world where DSLR gear (other than body and lenses) is realy hard to find, and ordering from US or even Europe, is not practical when you have to add 40% of the cost to customs ;)

I’m taking a few beginner photography classes and was loaned a Canon XSI and wanted to know where i could get lenses for it at a good price. the only one i have is the 18-55mm that came with it and i’m not having any luck finding any other accessories at a decent price.

Also i want to try my hand at taking pictures with the white back ground for portrait shots but dont have the money for the lighting equipment and expensive thread less background. Any suggestions for a DIY fix for the background and lighting?

    Thanks in advance!

Hey Mac, you should definitely start with the Canon 50mm F/1.8 lens. It’s the best entry level price, that can provide you with really sharp images, and a very very shallow depth of field: Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens

For backgrounds and lighting, there are some very inexpensive kits online that you can start with as you learn.

Hi Olivia, I just posted a suggestion here, but have a feeling it probably went to your spam list because I included my website url. Is there any chance you could click ‘not spam’ for it? :) Thanks, I’m not a spammer, but I think I must have ended up on a spam list due to a pingback plugin I used to use on my blog.
