3 Stop Polarizer Filter by Wide Open Camera
The benefits of ND and polarizing filters are absolutely priceless when considering the results that they can render for film and photography. I did a video explaining ND Filters (HERE) and Polarizing Filters (HERE) a few months back. YouTube user, maxdreamcreator, asked me about stacking both of these filters to achieve a desired look. He was experiencing vignetting, which is common when stacking. The inside walls of the filter rings were getting into his shot. Wide Open Camera teamed up with Light Craft Workshop to create a multi-coated circular polarizer and ND3 combination filter that is thin enough for use with wide-angle lenses. This filter will give you roughly 3 Stops of ND while shooting outdoors. HERE you can also find a few photos showing a Tiffen regular 1-2/3 stop polarizer filter and the Wide Open Camera 3-Stop Polarizer from WOC’s blog. The still examples were shot at exposure with both filters. This is an awesome solution for maxdreamcreator’s dilema.
Currently Wide Open Camera only offers the 77mm size but will expand the line soon. The 77mm Size is normally $159.00 US but with a donation to their kickstarter project HERE you can grab yours for only 87 bucks!

I got this filter and cannot get clean focus using it.

Thanks!
That’s pretty cool. If only they made a 37mm version, I’d grab one for sure.
